Zoo and Aquarium Consultancy |
|---|---|
| Services provided | We aim to assist zoos in developing education programmes, and the research and conservation links they need, by preparing packages customised to each collection’s needs.
These packages can be anything from a children’s trail around an aquarium to a completely new holistic interpretative package for a zoo. We are experienced in setting up frameworks for research students, and collaborative programmes with local universities and colleges, allowing any small collection to conduct valuable research work. Smaller collections that do not have staff or time necessary to create first class education projects can rely on us to provide a full education service, tailored specifically to their individual requirements. Our conservation experience and contacts can help you develop either local conservation links, or work with overseas projects. Recently introduced legislation, incorporating the EC Zoos Directive into the Zoo Licensing Act, and the revised Secretary of States’ Standards for Modern Zoo Practice, has created a new operating climate for zoos and aquaria, large or small. All zoos are now required to have comprehensive education, conservation and research policies and programmes commensurate with their size. We hold an extensive database of animal collections, local and international conservation projects, research organisations, zoo architects and exhibit design companies, allowing us to set up links and source any information needed. Our comprehensive research library can provide the intellectual background to any project. |
